Camden, NJ- On February 11, 2019, entrepreneurs of class 83 had their Entrepreneurial Development Training Program (EDTP) class on Small Business Financing. The third unit titled, “Money, Banking, And Personal Finances” was presented by Joanna Nicasio, Vice President and Store Manager of TD Bank Camden. In this class, the entrepreneurs learned the importance of banking and money management since their financial choices can affect both their business and personal lives.

LAEDA Presents its Spanish Language Quick Start Series

Camden, NJ- As part of its continued commitment to the Latin community, LAEDA hosted the five week Quick Start Series in Spanish. The program began on January 10th with the ABC’s of Stating a Small Business at the Salvation Army KROC Center in Camden. The series continued with Business Plan I, Business Plan II, and Marketing. The last class, Credit Management, was the night to present the certificates to all the participants who attended three or more classes. Certificates were presented to 17 people who represented 16 business in the community. The participants received the information and talked about using it and business counseling to forward their endeavors.

Reed is the owner and operator of “What Color Is Your Skin,” which is a creative approach to teaching our youth to value the differences that we all have while loving themselves and being comfortable with how God created them. She is also a graduate of LAEDA’s Entrepreneurial Development Training Program. We had a chance to sit down with her to ask about her experience with entrepreneurship and LAEDA's training program.

Cultivating Relationships Starts with a Business Card

Cultivating relationships is an important part of becoming successful no matter what business venture an entrepreneur has chosen. These relationships create a system that help individuals connect, share knowledge, and exchange resources. This is why LAEDA held its second Alumni Connections Initiative event on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the Sweet Water Bar & Grill. The event, called Alumni Networking: Business Card Exchange, was designed to help EDTP/ WBA graduates come together and begin building the LAEDA alumni business directory. It also provided an opportunity for them to identify potential clients, strategic partners, etc. Creating these connections will guide business owners in realizing more opportunities that can lead to business success.
