 Raymond L. Lamboy, President & Chief Executive Officer

Raymond L. Lamboy Laeda President & CEO

 

Mr. Lamboy has been President & CEO of LAEDA since December of 2007. As a second generation owner of Lamboy Furniture Company, a family-owned business here in the City of Camden since 1970, Mr. Lamboy brings a unique prospective to the economic development mission of LAEDA. Mr. Lamboy believes that the future of the City of Camden rests in strengthening and growing the city’s business community and empowering individuals to own their own businesses.

Mr. Lamboy holds a BA in Economics from Rutgers University, has been certified by Main Street New Jersey as having completed the Downtown Revitalization Institute year long training program and has attended national training conferences hosted by the National Main Street Center and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) - Urban Forums.

 Annabel Soto, Office Administrator

 

Mrs. Soto joined LAEDA in November of 2010 as our Receptionist/Fiscal Management Clerk. In this role, Mrs. Soto was responsible for the management of LAEDA's fiscal operations and communications. Mrs. Soto was promoted to Administrative Assistant in September of 2011. As the Administrative Assistant of the organization, Mrs. Soto coordinates the administrative functions of the organization. In her current role as the Office Administrator, she oversees day to day operations of the organization while coordinating executive and program support. As the former Procurement Manager and Special Projects coordinator for APM of Philadelphia and the Enrollment Management Coordinator for the Catholic School Partnership here in the City of Camden.

Mrs. Soto brings a wide range of administrative experience to LAEDA combined with an extensive network of relationships throughout the community to LAEDA. Mrs. Soto holds a BA in Business Administration from Pierce College and is fully bi-lingual in Spanish and English. 

Jamila Powell, Program Manager - Women's Business Center

 

Ms. Powell started with LAEDA in September of 2015 as an intern responsible for our Dine Around Friday events program. In December of 2015, She joined our team as a program associate supporting the Entrepreneurial Development Training Program (EDTP) In March 2016, Ms. Powell became a permanent part of LAEDA’s team as our new Technical Assistance Coordinator. In this role, she supports the operations of the EDTP program and coordinates the provision of Business counseling to both in session program participants and the EDTP Alumni. She was promoted to Program Manager of the Women’s Business Center in October 2018. She provides business support, counseling and Business education through the Women’s Business Academy (WBA) providing these services in all of south jersey.

Ms. Powell holds an MBA in Marketing from Rutgers University and two Bachelor Degrees from Montclair State for Human Ecology & Business Administration. Ms. Powell is a Camden native who’s committed to working on turning the city of Camden around.

 

Mariana Hinojosa, Assistant Program Manager - Women's Business Center    

 Ms. Hinojosa started at LAEDA as a Fiscal Management Clerk in January 2015. She briefly left from 2017-2021 to become the Project Coordinator/Office Coordinator for Saint Joseph’s Carpenter Society in Camden, NJ and later the Microlending Officer and then Mortgage Support Specialist for Community First Fund in Philadelphia, PA. She returned to the team in March of 2022, as the Assistant Program Manager for the Women’s Business Center. In this role, she conducts business counseling, provides business support, and works to strengthen and grow the LAEDA Alumni Network. She prides herself on helping entrepreneurs start their businesses by walking them through the registration process.

Ms. Hinojosa graduated from Philadelphia University with a BS in Fashion Industry Management and a minor in Marketing. She has been committed to her growth as a professional, and has earned certificates in Homeownership Counseling, Delivering Effective Financial Education for Today’s Consumer, and Building Skills for Financial Confidence.

 

Sehrish Khan, Training Coordinator LAEDA Business Services Center

 
Ms. Khan originally joined the LAEDA team in part time role as the Marketing Associate in June 2015 where she engaged our alumni and community through social media and outreach events.  In February 2022 was promoted to Training Coordinator.  In this role, Ms. Khan oversees the recruitment and enrollment of new and existing entrepreneurs into LAEDA's various business education programs. Ms. Khan takes an inspirational approach to work with her clients by creating a positive experience pride and actively listening to their needs and identifying the best starting point for their entrepreneurial journey. Ms. Khan values making connections and helping clients see their potential.
 
 
Ms. Khan graduated from Rutgers University with a BS in Business Management and a minor in Psychology. Ms. Khan is bi-lingual in Urdu and English.

Nayezge Heyer, Operations Support Coordinator

Mr. Heyer joined LAEDA in January 2021 as the training facilitator for the various night trainings we hold. He was responsible for creating a welcoming environment that would allow entrepreneurs to learn, as well as recording qualitative data that helps us continuously improve our trainings. In June 2022, he moved to a full-time role as the Operations Supports coordinator, where he assists the Office Administrator in managing the front office. His primary responsibility is to manage the accounts payable and receivable.

Mr. Heyer has a BS in Community Development with a minor in Business from Temple University. He is passionate about entrepreneurship being a tool to level the wealth gap.

Merfred "Mimi" Feliz, Camden Verify Coordinator - LAEDA Business Services Center  

 
Ms. Merfred Feliz joined the LAEDA team in July 2023 as the Camden Verify Coordinator. She is responsible for recruiting and evaluating prospective businesses from the city of Camden to receive the Camden Verified status. She works in partnership with the Women’s Business Center to direct those who are unable to achieve status to business counseling and training.

 

Ms. Feliz takes pride in guiding entrepreneurs in the Camden Verified process and securing procurement opportunities. Ms. Feliz brings a solid background of administrative experience to LAEDA from 10+ years in the Hospitality and Finance Industry. Ms. Feliz is fluently bi-lingual in English and Spanish.

 

Tammy Ong, Business Counseling Support Specialist- Women's Business Center               

 
Tammy Ong joined LAEDA in September 2022 as the training facilitator, and now serves as the Business Counseling Support Specialist. As the Business Counseling Support Specialist, Ms. Ong looks forward to helping local entrepreneurs take the next steps in their business. Ms. Ong supports the Business Counseling Services by doing outreach and intake with new and past clients, and assisting with the 9-week training program and other functions/events.
 

Ms. Ong is currently enrolled in the Master’s of Public Administration program at Rutgers-Camden, and recently completed her undergraduate degree in Urban Studies, Global Studies, and Sociology. She hopes to help local communities through economic development and wants to see all our graduates go far and beyond with their businesses
