Raymond L. Lamboy Laeda President & CEO

Mr. Lamboy has been President & CEO of LAEDA since December of 2007. As a second generation owner of Lamboy Furniture Company, a family-owned business here in the City of Camden since 1970, Mr. Lamboy brings a unique prospective to the economic development mission of LAEDA. Mr. Lamboy believes that the future of the City of Camden rests in strengthening and growing the city’s business community and empowering individuals to own their own businesses. Mr. Lamboy holds a BA in Economics from Rutgers University, has been certified by Main Street New Jersey as having completed the Downtown Revitalization Institute year long training program and has attended national training conferences hosted by the National Main Street Center and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) - Urban Forums.

Annabel Soto, Office Administrator

Mrs. Soto joined LAEDA in November of 2010 as our Receptionist/Fiscal Management Clerk. In this role, Mrs. Soto was responsible for the management of LAEDA's fiscal operations and communications. Mrs. Soto was promoted to Administrative Assistant in September of 2011. As the Administrative Assistant of the organization, Mrs. Soto coordinates the administrative functions of the organization. She oversees day to day operations of the organization while coordinating executive and program support. As the former Procurement Manager and Special Projects coordinator for APM of Philadelphia and the Enrollment Management Coordinator for the Catholic School Partnership here in the City of Camden, Mrs. Soto brings a wide range of administrative experience to LAEDA combined with an extensive network of relationships throughout the community to LAEDA. Mrs. Soto holds a BA in Business Administration from Pierce College and is fully bi-lingual in Spanish and English. 

Jamila Powell, Program Manager-Entrepreneurial Development Training Program

Ms. Powell started with LAEDA in September of 2015 as an intern responsible for our Dine Around Friday events program.  In December 2015, she joined our team as a program associate supporting the EntrepreneurialDevelopment Training Program (EDTP).  In March 2016, Ms. Powell became a permanent part of LAEDA’s team as our new Technical Assistance Coordinator.  In this role, she supports the operations of EDTP and coordinates the provision of technical assistance services to both in session program participants and EDTP alumni.  She continues to coordinate the activities of the Dine Around Program.  Ms. Powell holds an MBA in Marketing from Rutgers University and two Bachelor’s Degrees from Montclair State for Human Ecology & Business Administration.  Ms. Powell is a Camden native who committed to working to help turn the city around.  Please join us in welcoming her to our team. 

Jamie Shanker, Program Manager -  LAEDA Women's Business Center

Ms. Shanker joined the LAEDA team in November 2016 to run the Woman’s Business Center. She is directly responsible for the development, marketing, and provision of all WBC services. She also coordinates and provides one-on-one business counseling and technical assistance to women business owners from every stage of business development throughout South Jersey.

Prior to joining LAEDA, Jamie worked with small businesses as the Development Director of the Philadelphia Mobile Food Association and as the Commercial Corridor Revitalization and Business Association Manager for Mt. Airy USA Community Development Corporation. She is a graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law where she focused on nonprofit law and she received a B.A. in Social Justice from Franklin and Marshall College

Alex LaBant, Assistant Program Manager - LAEDA Women's Business Center

Alex LaBant joined LAEDA Women’s Business Center in March 2017. As Assistant Program Manager, he supports women-owned businesses in their growth and development throughout the greater South Jersey region. This will be done through training and educational programming, individual counseling, and the utilization of online technologies to reach the greatest number of constituents possible. Both of Alex’s parents are small business owners.

As a former Peace Corps volunteer, he lived in Peru for two years working on potable water and environmental projects. Alex is an alumnus of American University’s School of International Service, where he studied International Development and Spanish, as well as a two-year AmeriCorps alumnus. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, gardening, and riding his bicycle.

Alejandro Cruz, Assistant Program Manager - LAEDA EDTP Program

Alejandro Cruz is the newest member of the LAEDA's EDTP Program. As Assistant Program Manager, he assists managing the nine- week entreprenurial development program. 


Dina Maldonado, Administrative Assistant

Dina has joined LAEDA to manage LAEDA’s front office, the nerve center of the organization and the primary interface with the public.  The Front Office is responsible for the maintenance and storage of all program information.
