Jump Start Bridgeton Features Strong Local Collaboration

LAEDA’s return to Bridgeton this summer to provide its five-week Jump Start seminar series was a huge success. The WBC team opted to deliver this round in English since the last time they were in town the series was provided in Spanish in conjunction with TD Bank. The first seminar was so well-attended that the classroom had to be moved to one that could accommodate more people; fortunately, the building next door to the original site had ample space to accommodate the 20+ people coming most nights.

Regional Television Program Latino Motion Gets to Know LAEDA a Little Better

Five, four, three . . . action! The powerful lights, the rolling camera, and the engaging dialogue between Jamie Shanker and Latino Motion host Bert Lopez revealed nothing of the heavy thunderstorm taking place outside. Deep in the basement of Stockton University’s Richard E. Bjork Library is the school’s television studio, an impressively tight ship run by studio liaison Michael R. Zubrzycki, Mr. Lopez and Ms. Shanker discussed the work of LAEDA’s Women’s Business Center, established in 2016 to assist women in overcoming the additional barriers they face as they go into business.

Parkside Collaborative: Anatomy of the Pitch & Speed Networking Event

Camden, NJ- June 14, 2018- Parkside business owners and entrepreneurs, along with LAEDA and its team, came together for a night called Anatomy of the Pitch & Speed Networking at the Camden County Historical Society. The event began with Jamila Powell, Program Manager for LAEDA’s Entrepreneurial Development Training Program (EDTP), providing an overview of the evening’s agenda. Then, Miosha Lawrence, Homeownership Coordinator at Parkside Business & Community in Partnership (PBCIP) gave opening remarks. Ms. Lawrence began by stating “We asked what people wanted to see happen in Parkside and the outcome was to get into the entrepreneurial side in order to develop opportunities and projects that match Parkside’s mission.” She and PBCIP felt LAEDA was a good way to fulfill that need.
