Camden- On Tuesday February 13th, thanks to the efforts of the Camden Verified Program, LAEDA was able to do the first match of a local florist, Creations by Jenn, with Subaru. Jennifer Ortiz, owner of Creations by Jenn, had the honor to participate as a vendor for Subaru of America in Camden. Subaru has always been very passionate about their involvement in the city by working with small Camden based businesses through their community partner relationships. At this event, Subaru inquired about florist who would be interested in selling flowers or small bouquets in their facility for Valentine’s Day.

Camden, NJ- On Friday, December 15, 2023 LAEDA's team went to The Salvation Army Camden Kroc Center to volunteer at their Angel Tree Toy Shop Program for about 1,500 families again this year. LAEDA had such a valuable experience last year and admires all that the Kroc Center was doing for the families and children. Team building is an effective tool as it provides employees with a sense of belonging to the organization. When teams collaborate and come together, they not only learn more about each other, but more about the organization as well. This leads to managing more operations in the office, resolving conflicts, engaging employees even more, creating an even more positive atmosphere and tons more benefits to follow.

Camden, NJ- On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, LAEDA hosted the final class of its Entrepreneurship Development Training Program (EDTP) Session 97. The class brought together eight highly motivated and dedicated entrepreneurs, representing a vast variety of industries including pest control services, special event catering, beauty industry, independent artists, frozen fruit, juice, and vegetable manufacturing, and marketing consulting services. Over the course of the nine-week program, participants received 72 + hours of training from industry professionals as well as business planning education and business counseling. Jamila Powell, Program Manager of Women’s Business Center concluded the session by bringing back the first day’s conversation and asking the class to reflect back on what they have learned. “So is it the light of opportunity or are you going to get run over?” Jamila asked while displaying a picture of a tunnel with a light in the far distance, “Congratulations on finishing I admire each and everyone one of you and remember at the end of the day it’s you.”
