LAEDA WBC Provides Options for Those Who Want to Start a Business in Uncertain Times

Camden, NJ- Amidst the COVID 19 pandemic, budding entrepreneurs have chosen to commit to their business goals. As a part of its commitment to that process, the LAEDA Women’s Business Center (WBC) is hosting the virtual version of the Jump Start Series in both English and Spanish. The program began on May 5th with the Business Basics and will continue through June 2nd with Credit Management, Work-Life Balance and Time/ Task Management, Marketing, and Negotiation Skills.

Diana Larisgoitia is the owner and CEO of Buenos Aires Counseling Center. At Buenos Aires Counseling Center implements effective psychotherapy methods to instill self-understanding among patients and encourage them to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. LAEDA Launches First Ever Online Version of the Entrepreneurial Development Training Program

Camden, NJ- On Wednesday, April 15, 2020 LAEDA welcomed the 87th Session of the Entrepreneurial Development Training Program (EDTP) virtually through video conferencing. Over the past 33 years, EDTP has hosted the nine-week EDTP program in-person; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the course was transformed to be hosted online. LAEDA staff worked tirelessly over a one-month period to ensure the online EDTP would not only mirror the experience of the in-person version but also remain aligned with mission and goals of nine-week program.

Women Business Owners Sew Seeds of Hope by Shifting to PPE Production

Camden, NJ- On April 3, the CDC officially recommended “wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain." In response to the CDC’s recommendation, the demand for non-surgical masks have skyrocketed. Janaina Carr, alumna of the LAEDA WBC nine-week Women’s Business Academy and Terina Hill, participant of LAEDA’s eight-week Turning Your Hobby into A Business, have pivoted their business operations from ready to wear, couture, and custom accessories to masks and other protective protective equipment (PPE).
