“When I heard about the survey and the idea of a kitchen facility coming to South Jersey, I was so excited,” said Ms. Moore-Taylor. “Having a kitchen available nearby would be a game changer for me and my business.” Up until recently she has had to drive to kitchen facility in Trenton to prepare custom meals for her hungry client base.
LAEDA is undertaking an effort to research the potential for a shared-use kitchen to be built in South Jersey. In the survey, food entrepreneurs were asked about the various aspects of a facility and their preferences for equipment, layout and support services. “I believe there is a real opportunity for food entrepreneurs from across the region to realize their business dreams through a facility like this,” said Ray Lamboy, President & CEO. “We have numerous food entrepreneurs who are part of our alumni network who are in real need of a place to call home that is within reach.”
Those who have completed the survey will be asked to participate in focus groups to drill down on some of the findings of the survey and help LAEDA fine tune the final design concept and programming.
