Camden, NJ- As part of a statewide Nurture NJ campaign, First Lady Tammy Murphy hosted a Family Festival on March 2nd at Octavius V. Catto Family School in Camden. The Camden Family Festival, which was funded by the Nicholson Foundation, was hosted in collaboration with the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers (CCHP) and featured nearly 100 participating community organizations.

The festival was a showcase of all the services the community can access to help them improve their quality of life. This could be seen from the sea of vendors offering services ranging from healthcare and social services to government and family resources. There were even presentations from state elected officials such as Congressman Norcross and city elected officials such as Mayor Moran.

LAEDA was present to offer business training and counseling to potential entrepreneurs. Alejandro Cruz, EDTP Assistant Program Manager stated that this event was a “great opportunity to be close to Camden residents and offer services to the 500+ event attendees.  Since LAEDA services are geared toward low to moderate income individuals, this was a chance for us to keep working with the city residents to increase their business knowledge, empower them to be successful and, ultimately, revitalize the community.”
