CAMDEN, N.J. — More than 30 entrepreneurs, business owners, and community partners came together Tuesday, August 11, for CEO Networking Night, hosted by Nika and Alban Corbett of Curate Noir.
Held at Curate Noir, 1327 Haddon Avenue, the event was the culminating celebration of the four part Small Business Growth Series, sponsored by Parkside Business & Community in Partnership (PBCIP).
According to Nika Corbett, co-owner of Curate Noir, CEO Networking Night was “a whole vibe.” And by all accounts, participants couldn’t have agreed with her more!
The evening created space for entrepreneurs to connect beyond the traditional business card, exchange ideas, discover resources, and explore opportunities for collaboration. Attendees were challenged to meet at least three people they had not previously known, post their business cards on the Business Wall of Fame, and build relationships throughout the room.
For Juan Carlos Barrios of JC MultiPro Group, the evening provided an opportunity to connect with fellow business leaders and discuss what lies ahead. “I engaged in thought-provoking discussions with peer CEOs about the future of our industries and look forward to continuing these valuable conversations,” Barrios said.
For Yvonne Allen of Jewerlvonnie Jewel Creation, CEO Networking Night offered a welcoming introduction to the world of networking. “It was my first time networking, but it was a friendly, loving atmosphere,” Allen said. She added that she was able to exchange business cards, receive great information, and even learn how to create a digital business card!
Presenters and resource partners included representatives from Camden Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ), Rutgers Small Business Development Center (SBDC), LAEDA Women’s Business Center, and Citadel Credit Union, providing valuable information and connections to support local businesses.
Guests also enjoyed food from Parkside-based business Blowin Smoque, adding another local-business touch to the evening.
The night was more than networking—it was a celebration of progress, partnership, and possibility.
With entrepreneurs showing up, community partners pouring into the room, and new connections being made, organizers say this is only the beginning.
For those who missed CEO Networking Night, the message is clear: stay connected. The next room might be the one that changes your business.
