Camden, NJ – June 18, 2025
Last Wednesday marked a powerful milestone for eight aspiring business owners who completed LAEDA’s Entrepreneurial Development Training Program (EDTP) – Session 102. Over the course of nine weeks, these driven individuals dedicated over 72 hours to learning from industry professionals, refining their business plans, and preparing to bring their visions to life.
Representing a diverse range of industries—from caterers, residential remodelers, florists, lessors of other real estate property, and taxi and ridesharing services—each graduate brought their own story, passion, and resilience to the table.
Raymond Lamboy, LAEDA’s President & CEO, delivered powerful closing remarks that both challenged and inspired the graduates.
“Change your frame to accept the information that you are being given,” he emphasized. “It all comes down to having business systems in place. If your finances are not documented, your business does not exist.”
Raymond Lamboy illustrated the entrepreneurial journey to launching a rocket:
“95% of the fuel is burned at launch. The rest is momentum—so keep the momentum going. Implement what you have learned, or the investment is lost.”
He stated that LAEDA’s role doesn’t end with graduation:
“We’re personal trainers for your business plan. Stay curious, keep reading, and continue to grow.”
He even shared a curated list of must-read books to encourage lifelong learning:
List of books:

Entrepreneur Spotlight: Kashana Waples, Juice Capitol LLC
Among the night’s special guests was Kashana Waples, founder of Juice Capitol LLC, a raw, cold-pressed juice company in Blackwood, NJ. Waples, an alumna of LAEDA’s training program, shared her personal journey and reflections on entrepreneurship:
“LAEDA does not let you go—they walk with you all the way,” she said. “I learned so much through LAEDA. Always educate yourself, always keep learning. Do not stop—get out there, network, go to events, and venture.”
Kashana launched her business from home before opening a storefront in 2021. Inspired by her mission to help others live healthier lives, Juice Capitol now offers not only juices, but also smoothie bowls, sea moss smoothies, teas, and mushroom coffee—all allergy-friendly and vegan.
“God created everything to heal the body,” she shared, referencing Juice Capitol’s guiding mantra.

Words of Wisdom from LAEDA Staff
Before the night concluded, LAEDA staff shared some final takeaways to guide graduates on their entrepreneurial path:
Make the most of every learning opportunity. Apply what you learn and continue refining your business strategy. Stay connected. Relationships with LAEDA and fellow entrepreneurs form your long-term support system. Treat your business like a part-time job. Your business plan is a living document; revisit and revise it as your business grows. Finish your business plan and follow through. Once implemented, review, assess, and repeat.
“Don’t put your business plan on a shelf,” Jamila Powell, Program Director of Women’s Business Center emphasized. “Let it be the foundation for real, measurable progress.”
Networking Queens: Crystal Lewis & Barbara Hall-Bryant
Another highlight of the evening was the return of LAEDA alumni Crystal Lewis and Barbara Hall-Bryant, co-owners of I Say Yes Salon & Spa, LLC, a full-service beauty and wellness business in Camden, NJ.
Graduates of EDTP Session 62 (October 2012), Crystal and Barbara shared insights from their entrepreneurial journey and the power of perseverance.
“I just wanted to do hair,” Crystal said, “but LAEDA taught me the business side. They took me out of my comfort zone and gave me the confidence to market myself and speak up.”
Their salon focuses on personalized service and holistic care, offering everything from hair restoration and natural hair care to custom foundation blending, skincare, and wellness products.
“Value yourself now, not later,” Crystal told the entrepreneurs. “Pay attention to your surroundings. Keep your social media clean and professional. And do not just bring people in—guide them. Follow the systems in your business.”
