Camden, NJ – On Thursday, February 23, 2023, Glenn Gizzi and Linda Dixon, representatives from the Internal Revenue Service, presented to a group of entrepreneurs at an online seminar hosted by the LAEDA Women’s Business Center team.
The workshop provided entrepreneurs with an opportunity to network, ask tax-related questions and learn best practices to ensure they are on track with tax obligations on both a state and federal level.
“The IRS wants taxpayers to pay what they actually owe, not more or less. We don’t want you to pay more taxes than you owe, which is one of the reasons why complete and accurate bookkeeping is paramount for business owners,” advised Glenn Gizzi, IRS Senior Stakeholder Liaison.
Gizzi shared insightful information on payroll taxes, depreciation, recordkeeping, and quarterly payments. Gizzi encourages attendees to visit the IRS Video Portal (http://www.irsvideos.gov) which provides many useful on-demand training videos, including an 8-unit Small Business Tax Workshop (https://www.irsvideos.gov/Business/SBTW) .
“If you don’t already have a system to track your books or would like to grow your knowledge in that area, I recommend taking advantage of LAEDA’s upcoming virtual seminar on QuickBooks and other accounting systems,” shared Sophie Werner, LAEDA Business Services Center Program Manager.
