In celebration of Small Business Month, entrepreneurs across New Jersey had the opportunity to connect with valuable resources and expert guidance through two impactful events focused on business growth and access to capital. On May 5, 2026, the U.S. Small Business Administration hosted the virtual webinar, “From Ideas to Approval: The SBA Loan Process Made Simple,” which provided small business owners with a step-by-step overview of securing financing through SBA programs, lender partnerships, grants, and technical assistance. Attendees gained practical insights into preparing strong loan packages and understanding lender expectations.
Continuing the momentum, the New Jersey Economic Development Authority hosted the in-person “Show Me the Resources: Small Business Week Resource Fair” on May 20, 2026, bringing together entrepreneurs and resource partners from across the state. The event highlighted funding opportunities, workforce support, technical assistance, and other essential services available to small businesses.
Jamila Powell, Program Director of the LAEDA Women’s Business Center, served as a panelist at both events, sharing her expertise and reinforcing the organization’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and strengthening New Jersey’s small business community.
“Many entrepreneurs are unaware of the wide range of resources available to help them succeed,” said Powell at the Show Me the Resources event. “From funding opportunities and technical assistance to mentorship and training programs, these resources are designed to support business owners at every stage. I encourage entrepreneurs to take advantage of these opportunities to help start, sustain, and grow their small businesses.”
