We had the chance to sit down with Evonni to hear about her journey in entrepreneurship and her experience with LAEDA’s training programs.
1) What made you decide to become an entrepreneur?
“I chose entrepreneurship because I wanted the freedom to build a career rooted in creativity, impact, and service. As a Cosmetologist , wig maker, and bridal hair specialist, I’ve always loved helping people feel beautiful and confident. Entrepreneurship allowed me to turn that passion into something bigger—something I could shape, grow, and pass on. I wanted to create a business that reflects my values, showcases my artistry, and gives clients a personalized, elevated experience they can’t find anywhere else.”
2) Why did you choose your industry?
“Hair has always been my passion—and my world. I’m a two-time licensed cosmetologist, wig maker, and content creator, and I love the way a great hairstyle can instantly boost confidence.
I chose this industry because it allows me to combine technical skill with artistry. Whether I’m crafting custom wigs, installing glam weaves, styling brides, or educating others through my content, my goal is the same: to help you look and feel your best.

3) Tell me about your experience while attending EDTP. Major takeaways? “Ah-ha!” moments? How did the program help?
“Attending EDTP was a game-changer for me. The program helped me shift from being “just a stylist” to a true business owner. My biggest takeaway was learning the power of structure—from business planning and financial management to marketing strategy and really knowing my numbers. My “Ah-ha!” moment came when I realized how much opportunity I had been missing simply because I lacked systems. EDTP gave me clarity, confidence, and the tools I needed to grow my business the right way.”
4) Tell me about your journey on the road to business start-up. Challenges? Successes? Failures?
“My journey has been full of highs and valuable lessons. One of the biggest challenges was balancing the creative side with the business side—from pricing properly and managing clients to staying organized. Each challenge, however, pushed me to grow. I’ve celebrated successes like building a loyal clientele, expanding into bridal work, and growing a digital audience through content creation. And while I’ve faced setbacks, each one has strengthened my resilience and sharpened my skills, helping me become the entrepreneur I am today.”
5) Where is your business today?
“Today, my business is thriving and growing. I specialize in custom wigs, natural hair, lace installations, and luxury bridal styling, while also building a growing online presence as a wig influencer and beauty content creator. My goal is to keep scaling—offering digital products, educational content, and eventually a full training program for aspiring stylists and wig makers. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and incredibly excited for what’s ahead.”
6) Do you have advice for future or existing entrepreneurs?
“My key advice for future and current entrepreneurs is to stay coachable, stay consistent, and trust your journey. Entrepreneurship isn’t perfect, but it is incredibly rewarding. The more you invest in yourself—your education, your systems, and your mindset—the more your business will grow. Don’t be afraid to fail, don’t be afraid to start over, and always stay aligned with your purpose.”
