Camden, NJ- Amidst the COVID 19 pandemic, budding entrepreneurs have chosen to commit to their business goals. As a part of its commitment to that process, the LAEDA Women’s Business Center (WBC) is hosting the virtual version of the Jump Start Series in both English and Spanish. The program began on May 5th with the Business Basics and will continue through June 2nd with Credit Management, Work-Life Balance and Time/ Task Management, Marketing, and Negotiation Skills.

Since the five-week program is open to the general public, approximately 40 individuals took advantage of the opportunity to start and/ or grow their business even in these trying times. The five classes in the series are a stepping stone for many promising entrepreneurs who have an idea or existing business owners who want to learn new skills to enhance growth potential. After receiving certificates of completion, many go on to receive business counseling or consider applying for the nine-week training program.

“It was very inspiring to see such a large number of people still committed to starting a business even when there are so many external uncertainties. To have people say they want to start a business now because they don’t know if they will have a job to go back to makes you want to assist them in any way you can,” stated Jump Start instructor and WBC Program Manager Jamila Powell.

The LAEDA WBC continues to provide relevant and impactful educational programs and business counseling to the community in South Jersey. It also strives to offer bilingual programs and services to the public.
