Bridgeton, NJ – Unidos Para La Familia hosted a community celebration for Mexican Independence Day at the Bridgeton Waterfront on Saturday, September 18.

Local small businesses attended the festival and had the opportunity to exhibit their products. One of the vendors at the event was Felix Perez with his family-owned and operated food truck, Mr. Taco. Perez started the business back in 2007, and provides catering for all occasions in South Jersey. The Mexican Independence Day Festival was one of several recent events he has been seen at with his bright green food truck.

Perez shares about his experience at the festival. “The event went very well. Thanks to the people that invited us, we had the opportunity to meet different people and companies that were bringing their services. This was the first time we were at the event, and we hope to come back next year.”

The Bridgeton Area Chamber of Commerce, LAEDA and other community partner organizations provided resources and information at the event. The American Red Cross attended, and Inspira offered free vaccinations at their clinic.

“The Bridgeton Area Chamber of Commerce was happy to support and participate in the Mexican Independence Day Celebration in Bridgeton in September. With assistance from our partner, LAEDA and their representative Sophie Werner, we were able to connect with residents and businesses as we continue to reach out to the Hispanic business community in the area,” shared Tony Stanzione, Executive Director of the Bridgeton Area Chamber of Commerce.
