On the first of December, a group of women entrepreneurs came together at the I Say Yes Salon in Delanco for "Present for Success," a night of networking and empowerment presented by the LAEDA Women's Business Center. The evening started with a presentation by Fonda Wynn of Wynn Development Consultants about confident negotiation.

She reminded us to always value our time and to not be afraid to say no or ask for more.  We talked about how humor can demonstrate approachable strength and can disarm a tense situation.  We continued with a group discussion on appropriate attire and makeup for business settings. Andrea Boscaglia, a Small Business Relationship Manager for TD Bank, shared that while some settings require a suit, it may not always be appropriate and it is important to know your audience.  Everyone agreed that a presentable look that makes you feel confident and showcases your personality without being distracting is recommended. After our discussion, the women enjoyed light refreshments while exchanging business cards. We loved seeing LAEDA alum alongside prospective new business owners.

Look out for our Women's Business Academy beginning next month, as well as future WBC events and networking all year long.
