Camden, NJ - The Latin American Economic Development Association, Inc. (LAEDA, Inc.) hosted a group of 15 prospective entrepreneurs at its headquarters in Camden, NJ, last night, to assist them in gauging their readiness to start a business.

Kyle Santoferraro, LAEDA’s Coordinator of the Entrepreneurial Development Training Program, led the discussion by presenting the ABC’s of Starting a Small Business Workshop.  During this workshop, participants learn about the various aspects of getting a business off the ground and where they need to be to have a successful startup.  “Starting a business simple, but not easy”, explained Mr. Santoferraro, “There are a lot of decisions that need to be made and resources gathered to get started right and to have the best chance for success.”

The ABC’s of Starting a Business teaches prospective entrepreneurs the in ins and outs of starting & operating a small business, the challenges they’ll face and resources available to help you get started and grow.  Participants learn what it takes to organize and start a business legally and are given practical steps on launching and growing a business.  The importance of a business plan to success is discussed with a focus on key areas lenders look for when making lending decisions.

At the end of the session, Mr. Santoferraro encouraged those present by saying, “You can own your own business, but you must be willing to put in the hard work to make it happen.  LAEDA is here to help and we can show you how.”  He went on to invite participants who thought they were ready to start a business to apply for admission into LAEDA’s successful Entrepreneurial Development Training Program
